Last Monday Fountain Valley Choir performed its spring showcase, “Impressions,” with performances from all levels of choir.

The concert held at Shoreline Church was packed full, with audience members lining the walls to watch the performances. Many of the audience members ranged from proud parents to music lovers wandering in.

With a start off performance from the Baron Tones, the concert was followed by the beginning group of Trouveres. Baron Choir, the beginning boys’ group, took the stage right after, warming the audience with a love song, and Les Chanteurs, the intermediate group, brought life to the stage with their performance.

In the midst of the performances, a moment was held to recognize and honor all the seniors in the choir program. From students who had been with choir director Kevin Tison since middle school, to the ones who had recently joined, all seniors were recognized and remembered for their devotion and talent to the program.

“I’ve watched a couple classes of seniors get recognized, and for it to finally be my turn to stand before the audience to be honored as a senior was, to say the least, exhilarating,” said Troubadour Dray Wagner (’14). “The concert showed off how much this program has progressed in the last year.”

After the recognized seniors swept off the stage, Troubadours swarmed the stage and took over the concert. With bittersweet songs of farewells and moving on, the advanced choir brought home the meaning of the spring showcase.

Concert Choir topped the concert off with a stunning performance, and when the showcase had come to an end, audience members were on their feet in applause.

“I’m so happy to have been in choir and now that I’m graduating, I’m realizing how much I’m actually going it miss choir,” said Wagner.
