The Lady Baron’s golf team has been off to a good start with their first season games. Playing currently with three wins and two losses, the girls have been hard at work.

Part of their victories come from their cooperation as a whole.

“Its been great so far. We’ve only lost two games that we’ve played,” Vivienne Nguyen (’15) said. “Our first game, we played against Los Alamitos, L.B. Wilson, and L.B. Poly and we beat them… Then, we played Estancia twice and beat them as well.”

Their first home match took place on Sept. 8 against Rancho Santa Margarita, in which the Lady Barons played well but lost with a score of 243-203.

Lilia Vu (’15) had the low score of the match, shooting a 33. Melissa Kittredge (’17) followed behind Vu with a 42.

In their match against Estancia, the team dominated with a score of 239-289.

Lilia Vu (’15) was able to medal with a score of 35. Emily Bui (’16) and Nguyen were also able to play well and assist in the Baron’s victory over Estancia.

The lady barons were able to defeat Estancia again 223-286 at Costa Mesa.

Each of the ladies have been practicing and working steadily to improve and keep up their wins over losses. They have set goals and a promising future.
