The Spanish teachers decided to make the switch because their contract ran out with the suppliers.

Over the summer, the Spanish teachers collaborated to design a replacement for last year’s workbooks that were purchased from the textbook company.

Spanish 4 is transitioning to a new textbook, and French and Japanese classes remain unchanged.

“We were just going to recreate the same one, but we actually added a lot of additional worksheets for extra practice, for higher level concepts…especially with Common Core” Ellis said.

With the new workbooks, Spanish students won’t have to shuffle stacks upon stacks of papers in their binders.

“Students have one organized place to go to,” Ellis said.

The new workbooks will also help students who are absent from class.

“It’s a very easy reference to go to because it has all the worksheets and vocab sheets and even final study guides, so it’s very useful.”  Ellis said.

The workbooks have proved their usefulness with teachers and students.

“So far, I love the Spanish 2 one,” Ellis said.
