At their final home game, also known as Senior Night, the Barons gave it their all against the Los Al Griffins.  The Barons took a disheartening loss against the Griffins with a final score of 1-3.

Due to this loss, the Barons will be unable to qualify for the CIF Championships, although they put in extreme effort throughout the season.

“I felt like I grew with the team as a family and bonded with them and got to know them better,” said Slater Kucera (’17).

At the first half of the match, both sides struggled to score goals. Defense held strong with goalkeeper Kucera saving two goals. At the 7:05 mark, Andrew Rubio (’16) managed to get a goal against the Griffins.

At the last minute of the first half, the Griffins retaliated, and scored against the Barons, making the score of the first half, 1-1.

At the second half of the match, the game slowly turned  into the Griffin’s favor. At the 32:47 mark, Los Al managed to score once more, making the score 1-2. The crowd’s support remained with the Barons.

Unfortunately for the Barons, at the 19:29 mark, the Griffins were able to secure another goal, making the final score of the game, 1-3. This loss meant that the Barons were unable to compete in the CIF Championships.

“I feel that we did our best but we were unlucky in a few games,” said Kyle McNeill (’15). “Just to show that we can turn things around from last year from only winning game showed that the whole team has a lot of heart and wanted to win this year.”
