Varsity girls golf had a great start this past week against Roosevelt and Edison.

The lady barons beat Roosevelt with a score of 246-251. It was a close game but each of the girls played their best and used their skills to take home the victory.

Varsity player Breanna Bui (‘18) achieved her best individual score in this game, finishing with a 37. Bui said that playing against Roosevelt was a new experience because they’ve never played them before.

“It was a really close game but all of the girls played consistent which helped our score a lot,” said Emily Bui (‘16), captain of the varsity girls golf team.

Although the girls were pumped up for Thursday’s game against their rival school, Edison, they lost with a score of 232-223. It was a close score and the girls refused to lose their positivity despite the loss.

“I felt like we did our best and losing motivates you to become better and improve. Winning isn’t important. Having a good attitude even though you hit a bad shot is important because it shows respect and gratitude to the other team,” said Bui (‘18).

The varsity girls golf team continues to prepare and play hard in this year’s golf season.
