Last Friday, students attended the homecoming assembly, where students were introduced to the homecoming court and saw many videos and intricate dances.

The assembly kicked off with the national anthem, by the Troubadours and followed with neon lights flashing. Throughout the assembly, the emcees, Sam Asuega (’16) and Nick Palacios (’16) traveled back in time progressing their way up to the present, which made up the theme, Travel Back in Time.

When in the 1920s, the FVHS dance team shook up the crowd with their dance to “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” and the emcees introduced the water polo captains. As they traveled their way up to the present, going from the ’20s to the ’50s to the ’70s and so on, more fall team captains were introduced and performances from cheer, song, color guard and drumline followed.

When in the ’70s, the students were shown the top homecoming proposal videos. Edward Fahman (’16) was awarded first place for his “Bet On It” video, while Audrey Vu (’16) was awarded runner-up for her Disneyland themed video.

The homecoming assembly finished off with a big bang when the homecoming court danced to a remix of songs and then traveled back to 2015 from 2045.
