On Thursday, Girl’s volleyball crushed Newport Harbor at their home court 25-19, 26-24 and 25-14. This victory secured them a spot in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) for the first time in over three years.

The Sailors fell to the might of Amy Hinnant (’17) and Kara Winthrop (’17), who killed the ball at the net. On the defensive side, Kennedy Hood (’17) and Rilyn Todd (’17) made fantastic blocks at the net, shutting the Sailors down. This, accompanied by a massive serve streak by Phoebe Minch (’20) got them the lead over the Sailors and led to their victory.

This is truly a great accomplishment, especially with the addition of new coaches and staff to the program.
