On Feb. 4, the Fountain Valley Community Foundation and the city of Fountain Valley will be putting on their annual 5K fun run at Mile Square Park.

In past years, the event has been popular among the local community of Fountain Valley and many of the Baron athletes. Notably our own Fountain Valley Cross Country team had the top finisher, Robbi Dietz (’18) last year and many others close behind him.

This year they encourage all participants, walkers and runners alike, to come out in their best super hero running gear as part of this year’s superhero theme.

Also, for some of the younger runners, there is a 1 mile kid’s fun run that will be held the same day as the 5k.

Those who register before Jan. 28th 4 pm pay 30 dollars and get a t-shirt; those who register after pay 40 dollars and are not guaranteed a t-shirt. Children from  ages 5 to 12 pay 15 dollars during the early registration period and 20 dollars after. All children under 5 years old run for free. To register, visit http://fvcommunityfoundation.org/

Proceeds from the 5k go towards various local organizations, clubs, nonprofit charities and some of the schools around Fountain Valley.
