On Tuesday, girls varsity soccer crushed Marina with a score of 3-1, making this victory their third league win.

The game started out with an aggressive push by Fountain Valley, with three near missed shots on goal by Sandra Hawrlya (‘17) and Kylie Wilson (18). The Barons found the weak link in the Marina defense and were able to exploit it for the rest of the game. The Vikings were barely able to stop the Baron charge.

The Barons finally scored their first goal when Marissa Lynch (‘18) broke away from the defense and took a shot on goal, putting the Barons ahead 1-0.

The Barons then proceeded to score another goal, when Wilson received a perfect pass and kicked it into the top corner.

Marina responded with a quick goal shot past the defense and goalie, making the score at halftime 2-1.

The Barons came out even stronger at halftime, and the defense of Allison Bebout (‘18) and Karly Duda (‘17) stopped multiple attempts by the Vikings to score.

Wilson, towards the end of the game, again scored on the Viking defense, ending the game with a score of 3-1 and putting the Barons in a very good position to move onto CIF.
