June 2017 Morning Announcements

Here are your final morning announcements for 2016-2017 school year:

Attention current Sophomores and Juniors interested in bidding for preferred parking for next year.  Stay tuned for an online auction linked to the Supervision Web Page.  Soon all eligible students can make a bid on the 16 remaining parking spots.  The top 16 bids will win the yearlong preferred parking passes.  Once the online auction goes live, Mr. Trocchio will tweet the link.

If you haven’t picked up your yearbook yet, please come to the Financial Office today and get it! You must have your ID!

Interested in learning about leadership and making an impact in your community? Come to room 112 during lunch tomorrow, Tuesday, 6/13 to learn about the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy.

Attention current biology students. Mr. Lee will host summer academic prep class for chemistry during this summer. See Mr. Lee in room 213.

Attention all Future AP European History students there will be a mandatory Summer Assignment and Expectations meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) at lunch in Mr. Kral’s room #408.

Attention all students–due to Final exams this week, there will be no ASAP (Homework Club) tutoring in the Media Center.

Attention Baron Students with a locker, please vacate your Textbook locker prior to Tuesday, June 13th so that the supervision staff can clean them out and prepare them for next year.  It is important that you remove your lock and take everything out of the lockers to avoid having your lock cut off.  Thank you for your help with this and good luck on your final exams and final assignments!

Attention all PE Students, your lockers in the Boys & Girls locker rooms must be cleaned out by the end of the day today!!

Attention new and returning Baron Banner staff members. There is a lunch meeting today in room 306. See you there.

FOR PUBLICATION ONLY:

Hello Barons.  Due to an issue with counterfeit graduation tickets, we will reissue new tickets to Seniors starting on Monday.  The original tickets are no longer valid.  New tickets are white with either a blue border or a gold border. Our campus ASB/ Finance Office will distribute replacement tickets from 7:30 to 3pm on Monday and Tuesday and 7:30 to 1pm on Wednesday.  We realize this is an inconvenience to all but want to guarantee graduation seating does not exceed capacity. Thank you for your patience.

If you already purchased a yearbook you can pick it up at the Activities Office today during lunch and from 2:00 – 3:30pm.  You must have your ID!

Attention all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors!  Please check your course requests using your Aeries Account.  If you have any questions or need to request a change, now is the time to come and see your Guidance Specialist to request a change for your classes next year.

Hey Barons, did you know that FVHS has a coed Surf Team?  If you like to surf or body board just for fun or competitively, you can join the class!  The class counts as PE credit, and meets Monday- Friday at tower 9 Magnolia street at 6:45-7:35 am.  If you’re interested, please see your guidance specialist today and join the class for next year!

FVHS PTSA invites all graduating seniors and their family and friends to attend the Baccalaureate Ceremony on Sunday June 11th in the Bowl.  Please arrive at 2:30pm with cap and gown on. Baccalaureate is an inspirational graduation ceremony that includes all seniors regardless of your GPA.  PSS Imaging will be there to take pictures. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

Congratulations to Chess Club members Logan Nguyen and Kittipod Therdrakulrat who participated in Coast High School Chess Invitational. Logan Nguyen received a 2nd place and Kittipod Therdrakulrat a 5th place. Good job guys!!!!

Attention- Any student wishing to speak with the Navy about a future with them, they will be on campus today at lunch in front of the cafeteria.

Attention: Yearbooks are here!  If you purchased a yearbook you can pick it up at the cafeteria doors today from 1:30 – 3:30pm.  You must have your ID! If you don’t pick it up today, they will be available tomorrow at the Activities Office at lunch and after school only!

Seniors, buy your Senior Breakfast tickets today at lunch in front of the Finance Office for $5.00 cash only.  Senior Breakfast will be catered by Glee’s donuts this year and will include your choice of Breakfast Burrito, donuts, fruit, and juice!

Calling all Seniors!  This is the LAST week to buy Senior Cruise tickets. Tickets are $30 cash only and will be on sale through tomorrow, June 8th at 3:00pm. You may buy tickets at the online Baron store or in cash TODAY at lunch. Hope to see you there!

Attention Seniors!!  Friday, June 9th, is SENIOR CLEARANCE DAY!  Please come to the Attendance Office windows on Friday, June 9th, before your first class, to pick up your senior clearance card and instructions on what you need to do for senior clearance day.

Do you wish there was a class where students chose the curriculum?  Have you ever been in a class and heard the teacher say, ‘Great question, but we don’t have time…’? Ever wish there was a class where you could pursue YOUR OWN interests AND get AP credit? Colleges like MIT, HARVARD, and UC Berkeley all love students who take AP Capstone! Come to the AP Capstone informational meeting on Thursday in room 301 at Lunch AND after 6th period. Or contact Mr. Alvaro or Mrs. Silvertooth.  Come by to see if this exciting new student driven program is right for you!

The last Saturday School of the year is today, Wednesday, June 7th in room 301.  It starts promptly at 3:30pm.  Seniors, you must be clear of all detentions and Saturday Schools to participate in graduation activities.  If you are interested in a parking permit or lunch pass next year, you must be clear by the last day of school this year.  Please come to the Supervision window if you have questions.

Attention 2017 / 2018 AP Bio Students, there will be a mandatory information meeting Tuesday, June 6th in the library after school from 3 to 3:30. Looking forward to seeing you there!

The Annual Dancing with the Stars event is this Sunday, June 4th at 6:00pm in the gym.  Come watch your favorite teacher dance with one of our FV Football Players or FV Dance Team Members!!  up to support these teams and your teachers!  Tickets are $5 presale from any football player, dancer or Mrs. Allen. Tickets at the door are $7. Hope to see you all there!!

PAL’s is hosting the last food drive for the school year. This food drive is for students who cannot provide for themselves during the summer. The food items that are needed are RITZ crackers, Mac-n-cheese, and granola bars. Any item, is appreciated, please leave any donations in room #128.
