A ray of sunshine wherever she goes, lighting up her friends’ and family’s lives, junior Jasmine Pham, a junior, has the remarkable ability to make anyone burst out laughing and 100 percent comfortable around her.

Pham said, “I love to make people laugh. I’m probably not even a funny person, but it makes me happy. You know you feel that vibe you give.”

Pham first applied for yearbook as a photographer, but found her passion through designing the yearbook pages. She wanted to expand her knowledge and skill set by applying to Baron Banner to design for the newspaper.

“I like doing [designing]. It doesn’t feel like I’m doing work. It just feels like I’m doing something I actually love,” said Pham.

Pham plays a large part in multiple extracurricular activities both in and out of school. She is parliamentarian and historian of Future Business Leaders of America club, treasurer for Blogger’s Society, co-lead critic for Cappies, part of Honors Commission, a volunteer for Girls Inc. and a designer for both yearbook and Baron Banner. With her schedule full of many activities, it’s amazing how she manages her time.

When Pham isn’t designing or working, you can find her eating, especially her favorite, sushi. She can eat just about anything and as long as there’s delicious food, Pham is content with going anywhere. In her free time, she’s an avid watcher of Netflix. Her all time favorite show is “Futurama” because the characters never fail to make her laugh. She also likes “Black Mirror” because every episode brings a significant meaning to it and leaves viewers with something to think. Pham’s favorite movie to watch is “Clueless” due to its amazing soundtrack and on top of that, it features a few of her favorite actresses, Alicia Silverstone and Brittany Murphy.

Pham loves the summer as it gives her opportunity to do all of her favorites: travel, read and eat!

This past summer, Pham got to travel to Massachusetts and hang out at college campuses which she recalled as her favorite memory.. During the summer, she also got get in some good reads like “Where’d You Go, Bernadette” which she highly recommends. However, with access to a large variety of books, she enjoys so many of them that she can’t just pick one favorite.

One of the top attractions she hopes to visit within the country is at Walt Disney World in Florida and in order to live up to her 5th grade self’s dreams, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Another destination she desires to check off her bucket list is Thailand and immerse in their beautiful culture and mouthwatering food.

An artist Pham gushes about is singer-songwriter Frank Ocean, whom she hopes to see live one day hopefully singing her favorite song, “Songs for Women” from 2011. Recently, she’s been kicking back to Tyler the Creator’s new album, Flower Boy.

Embarking on her adventure in school or wherever Pham sets her path on, she lives by one quote: “At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can.” -Frida Kahlo
