After having attended Fountain Valley High School for the last three years, upcoming graduate Maria Philopes (‘16) has decided to make something of her last year here as a Baron. She sees Baron Banner as a new opportunity to become more involved with the school.

Aside from Baron Banner, she is also a member of concert choir, and when she’s not singing with her peers she enjoys singing at home.

Away from school you can catch her volunteering at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Medical Center or simply just spending time with her family and friends. This summer she went to a mission trip in Africa which has inspired her to attend UCI or University of California, San Diego as a biology major and one day return to Africa, a place she has fallen in love with.

While juggling Advanced Placement classes, California Scholarship Federation, Baron Banner, Choir, and volunteer work sounds like a handful, Philopes insists that she finds volunteering to be relaxing and the best way to balance everything is to plan on weekends and Fridays.

With so much to offer the club, it’s no wonder that Philopes was accepted into Baron Banner!
