For the first time in four years, the boys’ varsity tennis team won first place in Sunset League.  This will be the team’s first outright Sunset League championship since 1991, as the team shared the title with Los Alamitos in 2014. Led by senior captain Eric Tadros, the team went undefeated throughout the entire season, winning by a wide margin on each game.

“We were hoping for an outcome like this because we all have been practicing hard.  We were excited when season started because we can all put our hard work to use as we attempted to remain undefeated”, said Tadros.

The singles lineup consisted of: junior Justin Nguyen, sophomore Ryan Trinh and freshman Ben Nguyen, in the respective order. J. Nguyen and Trinh won first and third in the CIF Finals, respectively.  For doubles, the teams consisted of: Justin Pham and senior Tommy Trinh, senior Brandon Keller and junior Vivek Savsani, and Tadros and freshman Kai Rodriquez. Tadros and Nguyen won first in doubles within the league, while Pham and Trinh won third place.

“Overall I really enjoyed the season and I enjoyed playing alongside my teammate,” said Tadros.  “I’m really sad that it’s ending because I have been part of the tennis team since freshman year and I got to know my coach on a personal level.”
