This Thursday at Candlewood Country Club, the girls’ varsity golf team overcame a close match against Huntington Beach High School in a 202-207 victory.

Impressive showings were made by juniors Milan Nguyen and Madison Le, whose shots were a determining factor in the team’s success. Nguyen finished with an overall score of 36, followed by Le with a score of 37.

“The course played pretty rough,” Le said. “But we all did our best and we came out on top.”

It was a tough match for the Lady Barons but a valiant effort was made for a fulfilling end.

“Even though we didn’t know the course, we played well,” Nguyen said. “I really hope this winning streak continues!”

The girls will continue to prepare for their match against Marina High School at Willowick Golf Course on April 22 at 3 p.m.
