FVHS choir performed at Calvary Church May 30 for their last concert, entitled “Here’s to Broadway…Then & Now,” of the school year.

The first half of the show was titled “Then…” and  featured many of the choirs, including Concert Choir and Les Chanteurs, and focused more on songs that from Broadway musicals that premiered in 1985 or before. The second half of the show, titled “Now!”  featured only Troubadours and centered on many more solos and duets singing songs from more recent Broadway shows. The show was directed by choir director Kevin Tison and choreographed by Tara Pitt.

“I thought it was amazing,” stated Quan Le (’15). “I thoroughly enjoyed it with my friends and the sound system was really good because I could literally heard everyone’s voices.”

The show featured dancing, interesting choreography and popular songs such as “Think of Me,” performed by Lauren Snow (’16) and Morgan Parker who sang (’16) “One Day More,” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing”, which had the Troubadours swing dancing.  Humor was added to the show with songs such as “Me,” which featuring Phoebe Bui (’14) and Dray Wagner (’14)  as a sparring couple that got laughs from the audience.

“My favorite part about the concert was being able to see all the choirs perform their songs bc everyone worked so hard on this concert and every performance was great,” said Les Chanteurs member Michelle Tran (’15).

Troubadour Abe Nguyen (’15), who had a solo in “Elaborate Lives,” said, “During my performance, I felt a constant swift of excitement and nervousness. However, being myself really helped me perform really well.”

Aside from the performances, the concert also included treats from Pinky’s  Cupcakes and DVD copies of the night’s show were sold.

The Troubadours will be recording a song for their summer tour at St. Wilfred’s Church on Saturday, June 7 at 6 p.m.
