The Lady Barons lost a tight game against the Los Alamitos Griffins, trailing only 40-47.

Starting off strong, the Lady Barons got a small lead of 4-0 before losing it soon after.

“[Los Alamitos] got one of the best, if not the best, player in the league,” said Coach Cory Clarke.

With that bit of advantage, the Griffins played aggressively, but the Barons were able to keep up. The first half ended with the Lady Barons behind, 20-25.

“I think we came out a little bit rusty… We didn’t really communicate with each other,” said center Lisa Torres (‘15).

Teamwork started to lag, as teammates were getting frustrated with each other.

“I think they were kind of off. We didn’t stay together as a team,” said wing Michelle Wu (‘15).

The game ended with a score of, 40-47. However, there were some highlights during the game. Although no one scored in the double digits, four of the players scored more than eight points. Andie Kristinat (‘17) scored two three-pointers.

“Today was a fun, exciting game, we just came out of the losing end of it,” Coach Clarke commented.
