DIY: Sandwich Bento

Beef Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • ½ lb beef
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • ¼ tsp sesame oil
  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 2 slices of bread
  • Sliced tomato
  • Pepper
  • Lettuce
  1. Cut the beef into 1-inch strips.
  2. Mix the garlic, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a bowl. Add the beef and marinate for 1 hour – overnight.
  3. Pour oil onto a pan and sear the beef.
  4. Mix the mayo, ketchup, and ketchup. Spread onto the bread slices.
  5. Add the beef, tomato, lettuce, and pepper. Cut and serve!

Fried Lotus Roots

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of lotus roots
  • Salt and pepper
  1. Pour oil into a pan and fry the lotus roots.
  2. Season with salt and pepper.

Mushroom and Bell Pepper Salad

Ingredients:

  • Enoki mushroom
  • 1 small bell pepper
  • Ponzu sauce
  • Water
  • katsuobushi
  1. Chop the mushroom and bell pepper into bite size pieces.
  2. Place the vegetables into a bowl and pour some water into it. Microwave for a few seconds.
  3. Season with ponzu sauce and add katsuobushi. Mix until well combined.

Bacon Wrapped Mushroom Rolls

Ingredients:

  • Enoki mushroom
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • Soy sauce
  1. Cut the bacon into halves.
  2. Place a few strand of enoki mushroom into each slice of bacon. Roll and wrap the bacon around the mushroom.
  3. Optional: brush a little bit of soy sauce onto the bacon.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees F for about 10 minutes and serve!
