The art pieces of students from Fountain Valley High School (FVHS) were selected to be showcased in the Imagination Celebration art show from May 4 through May 22.

The show will consist of 2-dimensional pieces, drawings, paintings, photos, 3-dimensional pieces, ceramics and sculptures, all done and created by the students themselves. The 2-D pieces will be displayed at Crystal Court and the 3-D pieces will go to to the City of Irvine Art Center.

The show is one of the largest shows in Orange County (OC) which will consist of 1000 pieces from schools throughout OC.  FVHS will take up around 100 of the 1000 pieces that will be showcased during the art show.

The pieces will be displayed on May 4 to May 22; the hours for viewing will depend on the hours of the locations they are held at.

The pieces will be judged throughout the viewing time and the winning pieces will be moved to the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach. The Sawdust Art Festival will take place from June 24 to Aug. 28.

“It’s a really good art show. I like our kid’s stuff to be involved in it. We have had very good success in it; every year we’ve had two to three pieces go down to the Sawdust Festival so that’s a huge, huge complement on the skies the kids have at this school,” said Michael Eich, the art department coordinator.
