Last Thursday night, our girls volleyball team dominated on the court and made a devastating blow to Brethren Christian. The girls won three out of five games, with the last game of a score of 25-22 and a breathtaking play from Morgan Bilbruck (’12) on the last by dumping the ball to the other team, leading to the girls’ victory. Nathalie Berardino (’13) shined on the court with her multiple kills on the outside.
Our Lady Barons did a particularly great job this game by setting the bar high the first game with a score of 25 to 18. Then by the second game, they demolished the other team with a gaping eleven point gap with a score of 25 to 14. The team looked confident on the court, as well as in their hearts. Nichole Pletkovic (‘12) walked on the court with an attitude of “we’re gonna win” burning in her eyes.
Laney Ehlers (’13) also showed her talent on the court on by killing almost every ball that came her way. After the last game, the players walked off the court with valiant looks on their faces with a good start to their season. Girl’s volleyball seems to be headed on the winning path.

Coach Bau Peters stated, “We set high standards every year and strive to achieve them. We aim to win league and CIF and do the best we can.”

Our Lady Barons are doing very well and they hope to bring pride to the Baron name.

  1. Don’t forget to mention the Freshmen girls volleyball team. They more than dominated at the Desert Valley tournament last Sat (Sep 30th) and won 1st place. Although they lost to Edison in three sets, they beat Marina this week in three sets showing they have the makings of a winning team. Definitely a team to watch as they move through this season!
