Gears of War 3 knows what it is: an awesome simulator.
Created by Epic Games, Gears of War 3 is a third person shooter game. It is the third installment of the Gears of War series, following famous games such as Gears of War and Gears of War 2.
Gears of War 3, written by author Karen Traviss, was released on September 20, 2011 and succeeded in selling over three million pre- orders of the game and was one of the most anticipated games of 2011.
Gears of War 3 has new weapons, new multilayer maps, controls that are snappier and precise, and new enemies that were not in Gears of War 2 or Gears of War. However, Epic did not want to destroy the pathway of the characters and the game too much so they created a similar story line that was familiar to the players. Gears of War 3 gameplay is a third person tactical squad shooting adventure game.
The multiplayer mode in Gears of War 3 has improved a lot compared to that of Gears of War 2. There is a new mode called Horde mode 2.0 where teams made of up to 5 players can build and buy reinforcement, barriers, and weapons with credits they earn for beating waves. There is also “beast mode”, which is when you become the enemy and battle through waves and gain credits to buy new powerful enemies. There are also old multiplayer modes from previous Gears of War games that are in Gears of War 3, such as team death match, execution and warzone, and capture the leader. There are 10 new multiplayer maps including some fan favorite maps from the Gears of War 2 and Gears of War that come in the game for versus. The multiplayer has improved a lot, especially in the addition of new modes, but the gameplay is the same that we remember and love from all the Gears of War games.
Gears of War 3 is better overall compared to Gears of War 2 and the best out of the Gears of War series. Graphics, sounds, and gameplay have all improved, and now everyone can play Gears of War in 3D television. Despite a mediocre ending, predictable bosses and villains, and some cheesy characters and dialogue, Gears of War 3 is a successful game for 2011 with a great emotional, dramatic story telling, and adventurous, fun-filled gameplay.
So if you enjoy drama, action, saving a planet, gore, destroying some noobish aliens like Locuses, and like the Gears of War series, then I highly suggest getting this game. I had a good time playing this game and you’ll feel the same as well with no regrets. Gears of War 3 is a successful third person shooter and the best Gears yet.
