The Same Dress Up Days?

Students participating in Tired Tuesday, just like they did last year during Edison Week.

In the four years I’ve attended FVHS, we’ve had the same dress-up days on the same weeks.

It’s great that people can get excited over wearing the same clothes on that day year after year, but can’t we be more original?

Marina has wear your favorite jersey day, crazy hat day, and more interesting and different dress up days. Isn’t it possible for ASB to get students to vote or is it a hassle adding onto their poster-making sessions?

It’s okay to have traditional dress up days, but it would be much more fun to have different dress up days for every year. New and inventive dress up days might also boost our waning school spirit.

  1. i understand that having the same dress up days can be a bit of a bore, especially if you’ve done them year after year for 4 years straight; but isn’t that the basic definition of tradition? to have the same thing done annually? it’s the same exact situation as when FV used to have “international week” every single year at lunch. how is having the same foods sold at lunch every single year not boring, yet having the same dress up days for edison and HC week are?
Having the same special dress up days give students something to look forward to and help promote spirit. Also, not every dress up day is easy to find clothing to coordinate with its theme.
