Breaking Dawn: Sadly Not Terrible

Breaking Dawn was disappointing… for Twilight haters, who were forced to admit that the movie wasn’t as terrible as we might have hoped it to be.

As compared to the last three movies, Kristen Stewart’s acting greatly improved.  And the graphics of the movie were great! (The wolves were actually really scary this time around.)

The famous birth scene was pretty gory, but if you’re one of those die-hard book fundamentalists, you’ll be glad to see that Summit Entertainment did a great job of bringing to life the scenes exactly as they were in the novel: bloody and gross.

Despite the fact that the movie was decent, there were still parts of it that would make anyone bang their head on the wall. Most of the scenes that were supposed to be emotional were actually just awkward and funny. Robert Pattinson’s acting got worse. Hilariously worse.

Summit could have made Breaking Dawn into one movie because there isn’t much left in the story. The only thing left is the preparation for, and then the fight, against the Volturi. Either the next part will be incredibly boring (I predict two full hours of the Cullens ominously staring into the eyes of three cakey-faced vampires and their crew,) or the directors will exaggerate scenes (as they did with the wolves in the Part One.)

All in all if you aren’t a major Twilight fan, you aren’t missing out on much (except maybe some awkwardly funny scenes,) and if you are fan, then the movie should not disappoint you.
