JV Girls Soccer Against Godinez

The Junior-Varsity Barons Soccer team started their pre-season games on the right path. The JV soccer girls won both of their pre-season games that they have played so far. The whole team has been working hard to earn a championship title for FVHS. All of the girls on the team have been practicing hard to stay fit and to improve their skills to take themselves to a higher level to be able to win the season games that are coming very soon.

Last Tuesday, the girls JV soccer team remained strong with a win along with a shutout against Godinez high school. The score ended as 2-0 with the Lady Barons taking the lead and a win against their tough opponents. Both of the incredible goals were made by freshman, Jackie Garrett (15). In less than three minutes total, Jackie managed to score both goals, one after another. The two goals that Garrett had scored were both made in the first half of the game. From the start of the game Godinez high school looked strong and applied heavy offensive pressure. Although the Barons had a strong presence in the previous game against Cabrillo high school, the fight and the defense was suspect in the first half.

There were no goals at all scored by Godinez and JV girls soccer keeper Marissa Castro (15). The rest of the half the Barons took on a barrage of attack but were able to keep any more goals out of the net. The first half saw very few chances offensively for the Barons but nevertheless their win was still very astonishing and the girls should be very happy over their second win of their pre-season games.

The girls will be looking to continue their winning streak until the very end of the season. Come and watch the Lady Barons JV team play strong and help them get the support they need for another win.
