Euro Caffé: Europe in a Cup

The cafe at night.

With its delectable coffees, tea, and pastries, the Euro Caffé offers a brief glimpse into the idealized European lifestyle.  Surrounded by garden arbors and decorated with lights, the place is reminiscent of a romantic night in Venice.  Because of its small size and relative isolation from the rest of the strip mall in which it is located, an intimate, quixotic atmosphere lingers around the café.

The Euro Caffé’s eclectic menu offers a variety of choices from all over Europe.  There’s no specific emphasis on a single country within Europe; its cuisine ranges from crepes to paninis to the Café Fuerte.  Prices are reasonable; for $6.95, one is given a hefty serving of crepes.  Although the café boasts more of its drinks than anything else, their small selections of desserts are all scrumptious in their own way.  Most bakeries set out gorgeous displays of cakes and other sweets to disguise the actually unpleasant taste of its desserts from customers, or attempt to hide the unappealing appearances of a few of their desserts so that clients won’t miss out on the delicious taste of their sweets.  This is not the case in the Euro Caffé.  Here, these mouth-watering desserts both look and taste delightful.

One can choose to eat either outside the café or inside; while its exterior is romantic and lovely, its interior is classy and sophisticated.  Outside, one can go up some stares to stare out over the exquisite garden arbors and the lights, or go downstairs to sit on the benches beneath the arbor, surrounded by vines and flowers.  One could also sit under the lighted tables just outside the entrance of the café.  Inside, lighting is dim and space is cozy.  The tables and seating resemble those used in wealthy, vast gardens.  Service is friendly and efficient; there are no complaints there.  They neither nag one to order quickly or take an appallingly extensive amount of time to serve orders.  Overall, they contribute more to Euro Caffé’s dining experience than detract from it.

The Euro Caffé is located at 3950 S. Bristol St. Santa Ana, CA 92704.  Its location is ideal; it’s located across the street from South Coast Plaza.  The next time you’re in the area or simply want to get away for a bit, I’d recommend coming here.  It’ll bring a taste of Europe to your day.
