All Series Opened

Brock Lunqvist stands at the plate in the third inning against the Marina Starter who shutout the Barons.

With all the series openers out of the way, the Barons have now played every Sunset league team once. The Barons have not fared well in terms of wins and losses going 2-3. However the Barons have played very tightly contended games, all of which except one have been two run games or less.

The Barons were up and down the first week of play, losing in the seventh inning to HB and dominating Edison.

On the 23rd of March, the Barons dropped a game to the Marina Vikings by a score of 0-2. The Barons managed less than five hits off the Viking starter who pitched a shutout in tandem with six strikeouts. The Baron offense never once threatened a run to get in the game.

The next week on the 28th the Barons played at Los Alamitos in a heartbreak that ended in a 4-5 loss for the Barons. The Barons led the entire way until the sixth inning. Their two run lead was shattered by a single that sent in runners from second and third in the late sixth inning to put the Griffins up by one. The Barons could not overcome the one-run deficit in the final inning though.

In the last of the series openers of the Sunset league the Barons pitted their bats and gloves against the Sailors. The Barons came out well on top winning 4-0. The Barons were able to win their second game away from home this season.

The order the Barons will finish their series is as follows, Huntington Beach, Edison, Los Alamitos, Marina, Newport Harbor. Each of which the Barons will play home and away to finish out the series.
