On Tuesday, Fountain Valley High School’s varsity girls volleyball team showed their skill with a win against Pacifica. The girls won three out of four games, with the last game of a score of 25-20.

The lady Barons attacked their opponents with outstanding serves as well as spikes that had no chance to be stopped. The ladies got into their rhythm and started to work together to come away with a win for the first game in a score of 25-18.

During the second game they demolished the other team with a gaping ten point gap with a score of 25 to 15. The players had confidence and faith in each other and kept up the same rhythm as they had in the first game.

In the third game, the lady Barons lost some of their momentum as Pacifica stopped the Barons winning streak beating them 18-25. However, in the last game Laney Ehlers (’13) stepped up with 12 kills, finalizing their domination over Pacifica.

Coach Todd Hanson hopes these games are a hint of things to come. “We just have to keep playing with the same passion for the rest of the season, and we will be looking towards a great season,” he said.

Girls volleyball is definitely a team to come and support for an awesome season. The ladies have their next game on Tuesday, September 25 against Warren High School.
