Fountain Valley High School’s girls Varsity field hockey played Huntington Beach to a 0-7 loss in the first game of league on Wednesday, September 25, 2012.

HB scored four goals in the first half and three goals in the second half.

Baron Emily Brucelas (’13), Fountain Valley’s top-scorer last year, switched it up by coming from her position as forward to defense.

Incorporating new dynamics and plays from the new Varsity coach and Fountain Valley graduate, Allison Renth, the Barons will be sure to pick it up for their next season game Thursday, September 27 versus Marina.

“This season should be great. Our new coach is awesome and the girls love her already! I think she will be a huge improvement for the team,” team co-captain Alyx Merickel (’14) said.
