Girls Volleyball Slides Under Edison

On Tuesday night, our Lady Barons suffered a loss against Edison High School.  The ball landed behind them and ended the third game at 17-25.

In the first game, the girls had a strong battle against the Chargers, but they closed the gap stole victory away from them and won the game with an extremely close score or 27-25. It was a tough game, but our girls battled through it with some amazing passes and serves.

It was game two and our girls fought hard and put up a formidable fight and pushed themselves as far as they could. They were falling much behind, but Edison turned the table and pushed the game to 11-25, but the Barons weren’t willing to keel over and give up.

Ready to fight back, in game three, the girls were fueled by the desire to beat their rival. Samira Escobar (’14) came back into the game with some great serves that made Edison fall to their knees and unable to hit the ball. Although with all the effort the ladies put into the game, they walked away with an unfortunate loss with a score of 20-25.

In game four, our girls had a hard time bouncing back to playing their A-game. After some questionable calls by the referee and out-of-rotation plays, the Chargers breezed through the game and defeated our girls within an hour and a half. In the end, Edison won due to frustration burning our girl’s eyes.

The upcoming game for girls volleyball will be tomorrow, October 10 at Marina High School.
