Visit UCLA with the Career Center

UCLA ranks as a top ten school worldwide.

Mrs. Wakeman, the College and Career Specialist from the Career Center, has planned up a trip to UCLA for sophomores and juniors to attend next Thursday.

The trip begins at 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM  and costs 10 dollars for bus fees. Both Mrs. Wakeman and Mrs. Sanders, the ROP Career Specialist, are supervising.

“I wanted to expose this trip for the sophomores and juniors for them to start visiting the colleges that they want to see and also promoting the 4 year college route,” Mrs. Wakeman said.

The maximum capacity is at 50 and only 26 have signed up. Once there, the group of 50 will be divided into two groups of 25. Each group will tour the buildings, library, and student center at UCLA.

“I just really want the kids to visit college early…to get a feel of the colleges,” said Mrs. Wakeman.

This would be a great opportunity for some students to see if UCLA is the right school for them. Students can sign up at the Career Center in the library.

“As we’re working towards the college planning, I just want more exposure to the college experience for them and get them excited for life after high school,” said Wakeman.
