Boys varsity tennis wins three in a row

Eric Nguyen (’13) slams a forehand during warm-ups.

This past week, Boys’ tennis dominated three other schools, destroying their opponents in their matches.

In the opening match against Yorba Linda High School, the boys won 17-1, with outstanding performances by John Lieu (‘14), Nicolas Caman (‘14), and Kyle Ho (‘13) who won all of their matches.

On Wednesday, the Barons faced off against Servite, and trounced them 18-0 with no set losses and impressive playing by the entire lineup.

Thursday’s match against Long Beach Poly proved just as easy, and the 18-0 scoreline was repeated for an easy three-win week.

Baron Tennis will continue preseason matches with three more games this week before the start of their season at the end of March.

The Varsity team hopes to win most of their matches this season, and move on in the CIF tournament.

“Our team looks very good this year,” Nico Caman (’14) said. “We are very strong, and we work together well.”

“We practice very hard six days a week because we know that’s what it will take to achieve our goal and become Sunset League champions,” said Caman.

Their next game is at 3:00 p.m. at home against Laguna Hills.
