Baseball breaks their undefeated season

Barons baseball played Los Alamitos in a home game with an unexpected loss of 3-10 on Friday, April 26.

Earlier that week on Wednesday, FV had defeated Los Al 4-0.

At the top of the first inning with Hunter Margain (’15) pitching, Los Al led 0-5, which led the Barons to fight a hard game from the beginning. At the bottom of the third inning, Brock Lundquist (’14) hit a homerun, putting FV in the game at 1-5.

Los Alamitos came back with two runs at the top of the fourth, and unfortunately Barons were still losing at the bottom of fifth even when John Shattles (’13), Dillon Persinger (’14), and Jordan Lucio (’13) all hit, gaining two runs making the score 3-7.

During the sixth inning, Los Al got another three runs, and by the end of the game at the bottom of the seventh, the final score was 3-10.

Joey Loranger (’14 ) pitched the second through fourth innings, Scott Schultz (‘14) pitched the fifth and sixth, and Justin Cobb (‘15) pitched the seventh inning.

This devastating loss was the Barons’ first one in league, unfortunately ruining their undefeated season thus far, now putting them at 10-1-0 for the Sunset League title and at 21-2-0, overall.

The game was televised by Time Warner Cable and will be aired throughout the week.
Come out and support the baseball team as they take on the Edison chargers in an away game on Wednesday and at the home field on Friday!
