Congratulations to golfer Andre Vu who has become the first male golfer to qualify for the state finals in over 10 years. Andre shot a one under 71 and survived a grueling 6 hole playoff to advance. Andre will be playingnext Wednesday

in Carmel. Way to go Andre.

Congratulations to the Sunset League Varsity Baseball team on their successful season. Unfortunately, the Barons lost their playoff game to Santa Margarita yesterday 3-2. The Barons would like to all of the faculty and students who came out to watch a great game yesterday. We thank you all for your support this season. ALL baseball players will have a mandatory meeting on the varsity field today.

 

Thank you to our Sunset League Champion Baseball team for giving us such an exciting season! The Barons ended their season yesterday falling short, 3 to 2, in extra innings against Santa Margarita!

Congratulations to golfer Andre Vu who finished 4th in the CIF individual finals. Andre has advanced to the state regional finals which is next Thursday in Pasadena. Way to go and good luck Andre!

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys & Girls track team for winning the 2013 Sunset League Championship!  The Girls frosh/soph and JV teams, along with the boys frosh/soph teams also won League this year! Great job Barons!

Good luck to the hockey team in their last spring season game before playoffs. Face off is thisThursday, May 23 at 6:45 in Huntington Beach.

The Sunset League Champions varsity baseball team plays Alemany high school in the first round of CIF playoffs today at 315 at home. The Barons would love to see all their teachers and friends out at the field today.

It’s time to order your final transcript for college.  Go to fvhs.com/transcripts or parchment.com.  Make sure you specify you want the transcript for the “NEXT GRADING PERIOD.  See the Registrar if you have any questions.

Attention all Coronet Nominees, there is a mandatory practice on Friday during 2nd period.  Please report to your 2nd period class, leave your belongings and then go directly to the Bowl.

Disneyland Grad Night tickets will be sold again this Thursday during lunch, outside the Cafeteria. You must have a signed permission slip to purchase a ticket.  The permission slips are available online, in the Activities Office or at Mrs. McCall’s office.  Prices are $80.00 per person, cash only.  This event is for FV Grads only.

Mark your calendars for the upcoming PTSA meeting on Monday, May 20th, at 7 pm in the Media Center.  Come and hear what’s going on at FVHS! This meeting will include the annual election of officers for next year.  Students, Teachers, Parents, and Community Members are invited to attend.

The cafeteria will be bbq-ing cheeseburgers and vegie burgers this Friday outside the Snack Bar Windows, just $3.00!

Come support Boys Volleyball tonight in our gym vs. El Toro!  This is the Wild Card Round – game time is at 7:00pm.  Tickets are on sale at the Financial Office.   Go Barons, beat the Chargers!

Congratulations to the varsity girls track team for winning the 2013 Sunset League Championship!  The frosh/soph and JV teams were also league champions for this season.  The boys varsity team won their third Sunset League Championship in a row.  The boys frosh/soph team also captured the league title.

Congratulations to Varsity Baseball for clinching their first Sunset League Title in 11 years! The Barons beat arch rival Edison 7-3. Hunter Margain threw 5 solid innings and Scott Schultz threw the final two innings to secure the victory. Hunter earned his 6th win of the year. The Barons offense was led by Brock Lundquist who blasted his 7th homerun of the season. The Barons play tomorrow at home versus Marina. Tuesday is Senior Day. The Seniors include Monty Plattner, Jordan Lucio, Joseph Secrest, Nick Yang, Jacob Peralta and John Shattles. Please come out and congratulate the 4 year Barons! They would like to see their friends and teachers at the game. Thank you for your continued support!

Today in room 309 the hip hop auditions will begin. Registration is at 4:30. Please go to the team website and print and complete the audition packet. Jazz and lyrical auditions begin tomorrow at 3:00.

Good morning Barons, here are your morning announcements for Wednesday, Monday, May 1st:  


Boys and Girls Swim Open division along with the JV girls swam the preliminary session of their two-day League Championship meet.  We have 37 individual athletes returning for their Final swims Thursday night at Newport Harbor.  One of our Freshman boys had two standout swims, Conner Foley was seeded 8th in the 50 Free and he also punished the competition in his 50 Breaststroke. Thursday night the relays are added to the competition schedule, we’ll be showcasing the rest of our young Open division, as well as our veteran athletes in the relays.  Our JV boys and Varsity boys/girls start their meet tomorrow afternoon.  Good Luck Barons!

The annual dance team spring show is this Sunday.
