FVHS track was packed with tents to celebrate the annual Relay for Life event last weekend.

Relay for Life is an event held by the American Cancer Society. Participants stay overnight on the FVHS track. Over the course of 24 hours, the community walks to experience the never-ending fight against cancer around the world.

At night, a candle-lit ceremony was held to remember those who lost the fight to cancer.

“I enjoyed the walk of silence around the track,” said Tiffany Nguyen (’13), a student from La Quinta High School. “It showed respect to people who have passed away from cancer.”

When morning came, the last speech was made and the captains of the teams were thanked and presented with gifts. Overall, the event raised $41,400.89. If you’re interested to learn more about Relay for Life, please visit relayforlife.org.

I remember when this box would be on myspace. I'd spend so much time just doodling random, awesome things about myself. But since this isn't myspace, some things you should know about me are that I'm a big fan of music, thus making me a musician, reading seventeen magazine, and surely sharing my thoughts to the world.
