More than fifty new and returning Link Crew leaders gathered on campus for training sessions Thursday and Friday.

Both sessions lasted six hours each and were led by teachers Jo Anna Jones and Lauren Henderson, who introduced several group activities that built new friendships between leaders and would be used during the actual orientation.

While running through these activities, Link Crew leaders were able to rehearse their presentations that would be used with the freshmen during their tours.

“It’s a fun activity to meet new people and a great way to get involved with the school,” said Danny Nguyen (’15).

The leaders played games that would teach freshmen important skills needed for high school. Jones taught the leaders how to show their vulnerable sides and share stories as a way to bond with one another.

On the second day of training, Link Crew leaders were assigned tasks for the days of orientation, which is set to take place Monday and Tuesday.

“I think that our Link Crew instructors did a great job at teaching us skills we needed to be leaders for the freshmen,” Tiffany Nguyen (’15) said. “They also made the long hours we spent in training an enjoyable time.”
