Barons audition to be homecoming emcee

Auditions for a new emcee for the upcoming homecoming assembly took place Thursday and Friday.

ASB president Tricia Vuong (’14), events commissioners Janelle Dinsmore (’14) and Keven Reyes(’14), and media commissioner Hoang Nguyen (’14)  sat down and watched students audition to be the “next Josh Madrid.”

“I’m a very fun and loving guy,” said Aldo Orea (’14), who auditioned to “help the other students to enjoy and have fun at the assembly.”

The ASB members asked each candidate questions, and then had them do cheers to demonstrate their interaction with the crowd.

Zane Peterson (‘16) said, “I didn’t think I was involved enough around school…this would be a great way to get involved in the school this year since I had recently moved here from Idaho.”

ASB looked for enthusiasm, charisma and openness in each candidate. The new emcee should be comfortable interacting with the audience, as well as having the ability to think on the spot. The emcee must know how to get students excited for the assembly.

“We were looking for someone who has lots of enthusiasm and would be able to get the crowd really pumped up,” Dinsmore said. “Emcee auditions went really well overall.”
