Girls volleyball played their second home game against Gahr last Tuesday and won 25-18.

Varsity quickly overpowered their opponents in the first two games with scores of 25-8 in both, but the girls of Gahr pushed hard in the third game.

With consistent passing from libero Ari Jacobsen (‘15), Shayna Johnson (‘14) and Liz Byrnes (‘15), the girls were able to make great assists to outside hitters Samira Escobar (‘14) and Laney Ehlers (‘14), who made fast kills to the opposite end of the court.

Soon, they were able to pull the score to 25-18, giving varsity another win for the season.

“As a team, I thought we really came together and supported one another from start to end,” stated varsity player Tiffany Phan (‘14). “We worked really hard the past few weeks and it payed off. We played hard and showed no mercy on our competitor. This is only the beginning of what’s to come and it’ll be a great season for us!”

The Lady Barons will be playing next Tuesday, Sept 24 against Foothill in our home gym.
