Girls field hockey ended the last week of pre-season, 2-1, in a tight game against Chaminade on Thursday. Earlier this week, however, they were defeated by Glendora, 0-1.

Although the girls held their stand, they were scored on in the last three minutes of the first half. They continued to fight back and Cora Barras (’16), Cara Troutman (’15), and Stephanie Pham (’14) kept a strong defense and no goals were scored in the remainder of the game.

In the final game of preseason, the Lady Barons won against Chaminade, 2-1.  Goals were scored by Alana Batta (’16) and Nikki Coronado (’15).

Ending preseason on a high note and preparing to start league games the same way next Wednesday, Captain Alyx Merickel (’14) said, “We ended preseason with a great game against Chaminade, with a victorious score of 2-1. I am really looking forward to league play, the girls have really pulled together as a team and we should have a great season!”

Field hockey has their next home game, and first League game, of the season next Wednesday against Westminster High School.
