Mission Viejo defeats the Lady Barons

On Sept 24, the girls volleyball team suffered two losses against Mission Viejo but was able to gain one win.

The JV team lost 2-0, scoring 25-23 and and 25-22 and the frosh-soph team won 2-0, with the scores of 28-26 and 25-19.

“Our team did really well today, we worked hard all the way until the end and pushed to the final point,” said frosh-soph gold player, Angela Nguyen (‘16).

The Mission Viejo’s varsity players proved to be tough opponents by winning all 3 games with the scores of 25-18, 25-18, and 25-15. Although Samira Escobar (‘14) was able spike many times, the Mission Viejo girls received it well and was able to return it. Ari Jacobsen (‘15) also tried her best, by returning many of the balls.

“I thought it was tough cause one of our best players was out but we did well,” stated Jacobsen.

“I thought they’ve been practing better and playing better than they did tonight, I mean we did have two kids that weren’t able to play that normally played, but still we didn’t definitely play our best tonight,” said coach Adam Cutrell.

Our Lady Barons will be playing Huntington Beach in our home gym on Oct 8.
