With homecoming in just a few weeks, Baron boys have been searching for dates.

For some, asking a girl to homecoming is a big deal and a moment to share the moment with the rest of the school.

“I would make it special, like in the bowl,” said Anton Naber (‘15). “I would like to [ask my date to homecoming] in a big crowd and make her feel special.”

However, other Barons like to ask in a more private setting.

William Hyunh (‘16) prefers ask his date in her home. He feels that it is be more special and unique. He would not want to make a big production of asking her, and keep it between the two of them.

“I would put candles around her house spelling, ‘Would you go to homecoming with me?'”, he said.

Nathan Cheung (‘15) also does not like to make a big show of asking a girl. He explained that he was thinking of doing so, but he felt that the girl would not appreciate it and did not want her to feel pressured. Cheung simply plans to get a friend to play the ukulele while he asks his date.

No matter how Baron boys plan to ask girls to homecoming, many believe that it is important to find dates early, in order to have enough time to prepare the details for the dance.

“[Ask a date] earlier than, like a week before,” Cheung said. “Because you have plan everything and get organized.”
