On a typical school night, most Fountain Valley students would likely be found studying or sleeping for hours: the acts who had rehearsed Wednesday night for the FNL Talent Show in the gym, however, were a different story.

From 7 to 10 p.m., the acts practiced their choreography, rehearsed their lines, and toned their instruments in order to prepare to deliver a stunning performance Friday night for Fountain Valley students and other community members.

According to FNL president Samar Saad (’14), the audience should expect nothing less than the best. “The rehearsal has been going really well so far,” she said. “All of the acts are doing really well and we’re all really excited to see all the talent at the show!”

The board has hopes of improving  from last year’s talent show. “I just hope that things go more smoothly,” Saad said. “This is the first year that FNL has actually had a full rehearsal so we hope this makes it runs more smoothly than last year without any complications. Last year we had an issue with the lights, turning them on and off, so this year we’re planning it in advance.”

Board members have collaborated with the acts to avoid facing these issues, and hopefully, give the viewers an enjoyable and entertaining experience.

The show’s theme is “High School Musical” and will include a variety of  musical groups, one of them being The Forgivers, who will be covering “Apologize” by OneRepublic.

“We’ve had a few rehearsals together,” said cellist Stefania Pombo (’14). “We’re planning things to go smoothly at this rehearsal. We want to deliver a polished performance.”

After tedious planning and performing for the event, the acts and FNL members are excited to make tomorrow night a night to remember by bringing together the community for a showcase of talent.

The show is set to take place tomorrow night in the FVHS gym at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $7 at the door.

“The whole purpose of FNL is to show students at community members alternatives to drugs and alcohol, so we just hope that the community can come together, have a great time and enjoy the best talent that Fountain Valley High School has to offer,” Saad stated.
