“Unos, Dos, Tres!” cried out Carlos Quintana, the lead singer of the Latin American band La Internacional Sonora Tropical, as concertgoers synchronously clapped their hands.

Last Monday, the Spanish Club hosted the annual Spanish concert in the FVHS bowl. Students looking to earn cultural points for their projects and spend time with friends, as well as fans of Latin music, congregated for a night of Spanish delicacies, dancing, and conga lines. La Internacional Sonora Tropical played songs with genres ranging from salsa to merengue to bachata. Many students, teachers, and children, most of whom having never danced to Latin songs before, eagerly approached center stage and picked up the moves quickly. The night ended with, according to the band, the longest conga line ever seen.
