“I was a bit disappointing, but we did our best that we could do. I hoped that we come back being more disciplined.” said Right Tackle Cameron Day (’15).

The defense played their hearts out against Griffins. Stone Escoebedo (‘15) got a pick and ran down the field for the only touchdown Barons scored. The Barons also got some good tackles, but they were unable to contain the Griffins from their end of the field. The Griffin offense scored 5 touchdowns.

The offense however struggled. Ryan Finley received many near-impossible passes throughout the game. However, the starting quarterback Chad Olberding (‘16)  hurts his knee during the game, and Kent Swift (‘17) took over, unable to gain any traction.

Although he scored the only touchdown the Barons had, Escobedo was still hard on himself.

“Today, to be honest, I didn’t think I did well. I missed a couple of tackles, felt out of place, and  I didn’t play full potential of how I used to play.” said Escobedo.

It was a tough loss for the Barons, being the first game of the regular season. Los Alamitos was 4-1 in preseason, proving to be a tough match up.

“Los Alamitos was a real football team. We could have done a lot of things better, we work on that tomorrow on film” Coach Ray Fenton said.
