Boys golf established grand effort heading into theirhome game against Edison High School held on March 26. They pushed for a win, but the Barons took a close loss with an official score of 210-192.

From start to end, the Barons and Chargers held tight score counts with each stroke. The loss in their league match did not slow down the varsity barons and the boys plan to work together as a strong team in order to recover their solid plays and wins.

Head varsity coach Carter Keyser acknowledges the challenge and is further determined to encourage and strengthen the boys to victory. According to Keyser, the match against Edison was tough, but the boys displayed great potential and will power for future success.

“The players will be practicing and playing to get ready for the match. They are continuing to get better, and they are coming together as a team,” said Keyser.

The golf match revealed dedicated plays from varsity captain Chris Feltman (‘16) who continued to display confidence and boldness throughout the game. Other varsity captain Joey Huynh (‘15) helped to demonstrate on-going support and faith in his teammates as he contributed to the game.

“I believe as a team, we must win some and lose some in order to succeed. Even though we lost our first two league matches, I know that everyone will learn from their mistakes and continue to strive to get better,” said Huynh (‘15). “We all did well; but I believe as a team, we can do better.”

Overall, the game against Edison assured the strong bond among the golf team members. Varsity golf looks towards the upcoming games with goals to finish their season strong. The team tackles personal as well as group aspirations to ensure ultimate success.

“My future plan to recover is to put in more work on the driving range and work on my iron shots,” said Bailey Duda (‘15).

With the motivation and potential to exceed their loss against Edison, the varsity barons strive to regain their matches through intense training and discipline.

“I want us to shoot our best score of the year,” said Keyser.
