With the arrival of the new school year debuts a new B4L system, encouraging students to get involved.

The Baron 4 Life program was created in order to reward students for their character and academic efforts in class. However, Supervision has decidedto make changes to the way that the Baron 4 Life system operates.

The new system has been in development since last year, influenced greatly by Dawn Basquez of Supervision. This year’s B4L system changes the way that students can be eligible for the raffle held every month.

In prior years, teachers chose one student from their third period class each month. However, there were some problems with this system.

Julie Chaicharee stated that the old system made it hard for teachers to choose a student for B4L. Teachers were only able to pick one student from their third period class and were also required to write a paragraph stating why that student was eligible. This often lead to some teachers not choosing students for the raffle, despite reminders from supervision.

With the new system, in place of writing an explanation, teachers are now simply award deserving students in the areas of character, academic efforts, and Baron spirit with a “B4L” sticker. Students who collect 10 stickers can drop off their card to Supervision in order to be a part of the B4L raffle.

“We take pride in this school and so I look at this program as just kind of an extension of that, continuing to honor what our students bring to the school,” Eva White, Assistant Principal of Curriculum, stated.
