The J. Lewis Small Company has been taking class rings orders for Fountain Valley High School (FVHS) for many years. They have over 200 different ring design with prices ranging from $199.00 to $431.00. Some of the ring prices may vary due to fluctuating price of gold. Most students intend not to buy a class ring because of the very high price range, so FVHS seniors state what they think about class rings and why they aren’t buying them.

“I am not planning to buy a class ring because I feel like class rings are not useful for anything in the future. You just order it and you leave it there and they aren’t worth anything in my opinion,” said Brendan Ly (’16).

“No [about not buying a class ring] because I work at Sears and I don’t get a lot of money,” said Mark Gerges (’16).

“No, [about planning to buy a class ring]. I don’t feel as if I’m going to use it or wear it in the future so I don’t want to waste money on it,” said Katelyn Tran (’16).

“No [did not purchase a class ring] because I knew that I wouldn’t use it and I think they were kind of ugly. My dad got one in college and it’s just sitting in our safe so I figured there’d be no point in spending money on a ring when I could spend money on things I would actually enjoy using,” Lisa Rusali (’16).

“No, I am not [buying a class ring] because I just feel like if I get one, I never gonna wear it and it just doesn’t seem necessary for me to get one. I think for a class ring it might be too expensive. To some people it’s a big deal but to me it isn’t,” said Justin Dimeck (’16).

“No [about buying a class ring] because they are expensive and I don’t have that kind of cash,” said Kaleb Nordfelt (’16).

About Sandra On

Cello player for the FVHS orchestra, historian for Friday Night Live, member of Illumination club and is a Gryffindor; Sandra On is one busy Junior. On top of all that, she sings, plays the cello, and plays the piano for her band The Treble Theory. "We're working on an album right now. Pretty proud!", said Sandra. Sandra loves pretty much any Indie music, any genre. Even Irish folk classic! She also enjoys punk, alternative, and classical music. Criminal Minds, Once Upon a Time and Blacklist are one of her many favorite TV shows. When it comes to movies, she doesn't really mind what the genre is. There's only one exception: "Any Nicholas Spark movies, I HATE! Absolutely do not like", said Sandra. Along with her musical talents and interests, Sandra has a mind for reading, filming and photography. Whenever she's travelling, she's always taking pictures. She has a YouTube channel, where she uploads vlog-type videos that aren't very dialogue heavy and focus more on the world rather than the person. In addition to that, she makes motivational videos. In her own words, "Videos that you watch and get inspired by. This could be you, why are you sitting here doing nothing?". To Sandra, Baron Banner is yet another way for her to get involved at FVHS. She loves writing and wants to tell a story about the school. People get misconceptions, and she wants to write the truth. After a reserved freshman year and a year of outgoing reformation in 10th grade, Sandra is ready to start realizing her true potential in her junior year as a Baron.
