For the past couple of weeks, the Associated Student Body (ASB) has been working hard on the Disney themed winter assembly to showcase the 2015-2016 winter sports.
The assembly starts off with a performance of the Star Spangled Banner by Elizabeth Coate (’16). Then a narrator tells the story of how three boys, Trevor Staffieri (’17), Sam Asuega (’16) and Nick Palacios (’16), got themselves stuck in a storybook as three famous Disney characters: Peter Pan, Captain Jack Sparrow and Aladdin. In order to return back to their school, Fountain Valley High School, they must find three things: pixie dust, a treasure chest and a magic lamp.
As each character finds their item, the winter sports captains are announced. Once all the items have been found, the boys attempt to return back to Fountain Valley, however they find themselves at East High School, where they must learn to work together before returning home. Performances by the band and orchestra, drumline, color guard, cheer team, song team and dance team as well are executed throughout the entire show. The assembly ends with balloons being passed out to the audience and a performance to the High School Musical song “We’re All In This Together” by ASB, teachers, principal and all the other members in the show.
