Sharon Tait, the Community Resource Coordinator at Fountain Valley High School, recently won the 2016 Classified School Employee of the Year Award.

Tait has been working at Fountain Valley for about nine years, starting off in the supervision office for about five years. In February of 2012, she was promoted to the position of Community Resource Coordinator.

Tait states that her motivation for coming to work every day are the students here at FVHS and the parents. She works very closely with the parents and helps them with the volunteering on campus. In addition, Tait sends out communications to them and keeps them informed about things that are going on around campus.

“I really like to scan the horizon, look forward and see how can we do this better,” Tait said. “In everything that I do, it’s not only doing the job that I do but finding out ways to do it even better.”

When Tait found out she won the 2016 Classified School Employee of the Year Award, she was completely surprised. She had no idea that she was even nominated. Tait said that not only are there amazing employees at FVHS, but there are amazing employees all throughout the school district.

“We have amazing classified staff at Fountain Valley and to be considered one of the top classified persons at this school site is definitely an honor,” Tait said.

Tait truly believes that almost everyone here at Fountain Valley should be employee of the year because they deserve it. She positively talked about the great working environment at FVHS.

“I want to come to work everyday and I want to work with these people who are just amazing,” she said. “We’re all here to help support the students and staff and teachers here at Fountain Valley.”
