Of all the people on campus, only one knows of all that goes on behind the cafeteria counter: Laura Barry, Assistant Head of Kitchen.

Barry is part of the team whose sole albeit crucial mission as Assistant Head Chef in the Cafeteria is to provide nourishment to all students at FVHS. She believes that no student should be excluded or unhappy with the meals to the point where they are unable to eat any food during lunch. Barry completely loves her job and likes feeding the public.

“I love working with these kids,” said Barry. “They are always a bundle of so much fun and I enjoy being here. The cafeteria is a way that I can enjoy my job while making sure that every student on campus gets a meal to eat.”

The students that work with Barry absolutely love her; they all enjoy her company. Barry is primarily in charge of making, cooking and plating all the food for the students of FVHS. She takes care to ensure that students are always receiving a great amount of nutrition that their body needs to work throughout the day. Barry not only handles day-to-day activities, but she also mans the Snack Bar during the crazy lunch rush hour.

“I am extremely happy that I got to meet someone like Laura. She is one of the best people I have met and inspired me to be a better worker. I think that she is one of the people that made this job worthwhile. It taught me a bunch of life lessons that I carry onto the future. She is definitely one of the people that I will miss when I graduate,” said senior Jennifer Nguyen.

The cafeteria would not be able to function without hardworking individuals like Barry. Her endless hours and service grow apparent with her utmost cheerful attitude that she shows to all the students of FVHS. Although she will be transferring to another job soon, the impact she left on the students will never be forgotten.
