A series of records and firsts were established during the last two days of league in what may be the most impressive season of varsity girls’ golf to date.

On Tuesday of last week, the varsity girls’ golf team claimed victory against Corona Del Mar with an outstanding score of 180-257. Key players include sophomore Madison Le, who shot a 3 under par 33, along with senior captain Misty Le and sophomore Milan Nguyen, both of whom shot an even par 36. Anh Nguyen, who is also senior captain, tied her personal best of 37.

On Thursday (the second day of league finals), the Barons narrowly won against Los Alamitos High School by 5, with a school record of 2 under par 178. Madison Le again shot a 3 under par 33, while Misty Le and Milan Nguyen each shot a 2 under par 34. Other vital performances were made by Anh Nguyen, Heather Thinh, and Quyen Nguyen.

The team’s hard work and determination culminated in their first-ever Sunset League title. If this year’s achievements are indicative of anything, it’s another hard-earned title in the near future.
