Lovely Post-Valentine’s Day treats

Valentine’s Day may be over, but that doesn’t mean the celebration of love should end here. To show your appreciate for your loved ones, here are a number of easy, simple and delicious treats you can create for them and enjoy together.

Heart Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients and Materials

  • A package of Kellog’s Rice Krispie Treats
  • Nutella or chocolate of choice
  • A heart-shaped cookie cutter or knife
  • Red and pink sprinkles (optional)
  • Jam (optional)

Steps

  1. Remove the Rice Krispie treat from the package and cut out the shape of a heart
  2. Melt your choice of chocolate or prepare your Nutella in a bowl
  3. Dip the treat into the chocolate/Nutella
  4. Add a touch of sprinkles, jam, or any of your recipient’s favorite garnish
  5. Place in a goodie bag or box to distribute.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Ingredients and Materials

  • Chocolate chips of choice
  • Fresh strawberries
  • toothpick (optional for creating a heart shape)

Steps

  1. Melt your chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave for 1 minute at 20-second intervals.
  2. Take your strawberry and cut it in half if making a heart shape.
  3. For the heart shape, place a toothpick in between both halves of the strawberry
  4. Dip your heart-shaped strawberry into the chocolate
  5. Let the chocolate set and enjoy with your love!

Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows

Ingredients and Materials

  • Large marshmallows
  • Wooden Skewer
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Sprinkles (Optional)

Steps

  1. Prepare your chocolate chips by melting chocolate in the microwave (follow the same instructions as the chocolate covered strawberries)
  2. Place your marshmallow on a skewer
  3. Dip the marshmallow into the melted chocolate and add sprinkles. Then, allow the chocolate to set.
  4. Give the marshmallows to your loved ones and tell them to add the marshmallow into hot cocoa for an extra rich flavor!

Heart Apple Sandwich

Ingredients and Materials

  • Apple of any kind
  • Peanut Butter or any other nut butter
  • Chocolate chips
  • Large heart-shaped cookie cutter or knife

Steps

  1. Begin by slicing your apples and cutting them into a heart shape or using the cookie cutter to do so.
  2. Spread a layer of nut butter onto two of your slices.
  3. Add chocolate chips on one of your slices.
  4. Put the other slice on top of the first to create a sandwich.

Heart-Shaped Grilled Cheese

Ingredients and Materials

  • Toast of choice
  • Cheese of choice
  • Butter

Steps

  1. Butter one slice of your toast and place on a pan to golden.
  2. Add choice of cheese onto the toast.
  3. Butter your other slice of toast.
  4. Place your other slice of toast on top of the cheese.
  5. Let the first slide become golden for 1-2 minutes then flip to the other side.
  6. Repeat step 5 and remove it.
  7. Cut the sandwich into a heart shape using a knife or cookie cutter.
  8. Place in any container and share it with your admirer.
